English Preschool for Toddlers 18 months to 3 years of age

Phonics is the basic rules for spelling and pronunciation of English words. In countries where English is the native language, children learn the actual pronunciation rules of the alphabet from kindergarten.

By learning phonics, children can learn the correct pronunciation of English and gain the ability to guess the meaning of unknown words. This also leads to being able to read and write English. In preschool classes, we start by practicing reading the alphabet one letter at a time.

TPR (Total Physical Response) is a teaching method in which children listen to English and actually perform the actions to understand it through experience. We start with simple English at first, such as standing up when you are told to stand up, or sitting down when you are told to sit down. By repeating various actions, we develop the ability to understand English directly. When the children become able to perform the actions smoothly, they will also start to say them out loud. By that time, they will fully understand the meaning of the words.

The teacher asks the children questions in natural English and asks them to answer in a natural way. At first, children will start by pointing to pictures or cards, answering with Yes/No or just English words, and enjoy communicating in a relaxed manner while improving their listening skills.

Depending on the children's level of understanding, we will gradually teach them to answer questions in a grammatical way and to ask questions.

We use cards with numbers written on them, blocks, fingers, etc. to count, and also incorporate TPR, to make children familiar with numbers in a fun way. Once they can count from 1 to 10, they will move on to counting from 10 to 1. The goal is for them to be able to count up to 20 by the time they graduate from preschool.

What is Montessori education?

We use toys such as blocks with unique shapes that are designed to draw out children's interests and questions. By repeatedly working on the questions until they are satisfied, a child can develop spontaneity and concentration.
